Yellow flowers in
3-8 flowered corymbs borne on flower scapes, which appear above the foliage. The flowers have 5 sepals and 5 petals.
The small fruit are inedible. Waldsteinia
has 2-5 pistils and smaller fruit than the
related plant,
Duchesnea indica. |

Basal leaves has a long petiole, 3 leaflets
palmately compound leaflets wedge shaped
dentate, or crenate at the apex, sometimes
incised. Leaves are similar to the true
strawberry, Fragaria x ananassa. |

Strawberry is similar to W. fragarioides except that
W. temata has a more
compact habit. |
