Flowers large, 1-2 inches wide, usually having
three colors, petals are nearly orbicular in
shape and overlap. Pattern on flower resembles a
smiling face. Flower colors are purple, white,
blue, dark red, rose, sienna, apricot, brown, or
yellow combinations. |

Sun to partial shade soils should be cool,
moist and well-drained. Pansy is a cool-season
plant and summer heat will often reduce
flowering. |

Basal leaves round, cordate stem leaves
ovate-oblong or lanceolate, crenate-dentate,
petioled, the large stipules are pinnately parted toward
the base, Leaves 1½-2 inches. |
