White flowers with an outer ring
of sterile flowers 3/4 inch in diameter. The
inner flowers are fertile. Each flower is borne
in flat-topped cymes 2 to 3 inches in diameter.

Opposite, simple, broad-ovate to
oblong-ovate, sometimes elliptic-obovate, 2 to
4” long, 1 to 2 1/2” wide. Glossy, dark green in
summer.

'Aureum' - Yellow-green foliage.
'Compactum' - small form that
flowers and fruits well - grows up to 6 feet
tall
'Nanum' - low, dense dwarf that seldom
flowers and is only 1-3 feet tall
'Roseum' - snowball type, with all sterile
flowers and is called European Snowball.
'Xanthocarpum' - identical with the species except it has bright yellow fruits.
