Opposite, elliptic to oblong. ¾ inch long, resin-dotted nearly sessile, entire. Leaves have a strong mint-like odor.

'Coccineus' - Bright red flowers, evergreen foliage turns bronze in the fall.
'Elfin' - Small alpine plant. It is 2 inches tall and will slowly spread to 5 inches.
'Pink Chintz' - Clear pink flowers.
Thymus is the ancient Greek name for aromatic herbs.
