Sweet scented,
creamy green flower on 4 inch long panicles.
Spring
Evergreen leaves
arranged in whorls around the branches. They are
bright green when they emerge but turn dark
green later. They are aromatic when crushed. The
leaves are simple and alternate along the stem.
Imbricate and
covered with red, glabrous scales.
Green with an
overcast of reddish to purple color. Have a
spicy fragrance when bruised.
