broadly elliptic to oblong, irregular and
slightly toothed to entire, wrinkled, dark green
in color, with a grayish pubescence on the

Fall color is nonexistent to greenish-yellow. |

Buds are ¼ -½ inch long, purplish brown,
with a single, cap-like scale. |
