The plume is
silver, changing to gray as it matures. The
inflorescence can be 24 inches long and up to 9
inches wide. The lower portion of the panicle is
very hairy.
September-October
Leaf blades are 24-30 inches long, 1 inch
wide, "V" shaped in cross section, narrowing
abruptly to an attenuated point. The leaves are
coarsely pubescent on both surfaces. A clear
white stripe runs down the middle of the leaf.
