Vivid blue flowers are borne in tight, terminal
cymes. The flower inflorescences do not elongate
on this species as they do on P. saccharata, Flowers either
open before the foliage emerges or at the same time.
Mid to late
spring.
Alternate basal leaves are narrow and acutely
pointed, 1-1˝ inches wide and 9-12 inches
long. Stem leaves are shorter and narrower. They
are dark green and have conspicuous white spots.
The leaves of this species are much narrower
than those of Pulmonaria saccharata.
'Bertram Anderson' - Violet-blue flowers, dark green
leaves with silvery spots. Named for
Edward Bertram Anderson.
'Roy Davidson' - Leaves are darker green and
about twice as wide as those of 'Bertram Anderson'.
