Yellowish green to greenish white, ˝ to 1 inch long, on its 3 flowered peduncles. Flowers are borne on the lower side of the upper parts of the leafy stem. The flowers are followed by bluish black fruit in the fall.
Late spring
Alternate, sessile, ovate-lanceolate to ovate, up to 4 inches long, 1-2 inches wide, pale and pubescent lower leaf surface, upper side is glabrous. Foliage turns a nice brownish yellow in the fall.
