long, twisted and soft, appearing tufted, with a
finely toothed margin, bright bluish-green in

Bark is orange to orange-red, peeling off in
thin scales, eventually becoming gray and
fissured into oblong plates. |

Cones are short-stalked, borne solitary or in
clusters, 1˝-2 inches long, dull
tawny-yellow in color. |

- 'Globosa' - dwarf and globose in habit,
but of vigorous growth.
- 'Umbraculifera' - Tanyosho Pine - low,
seldom much over 12 feet tall, umbrellalike
with a flat top.
- 'Oculis-draconis' - Dragon's Eye Pine -
needles have yellowish bands
