Pyramidal to rounded, often with multiple trunks
when young becoming open or flat-topped with
age.
30-50 feet with a 20-35 feet spread maximum
height of 75 feet
Needles in three's, 2-4 inches long and sharply
pointed margins finely toothed stomata lines
on both sides of the midrib. Needles very stiff
and rigid, sharp to the touch.
Bark exfoliating in patches like a sycamore or
plane tree young stems with irregular white of
brownish areas.
Cones singly or in pairs, terminal or lateral,
2-3 inches long.
