Whitish to purplish
flower spikes are up to 5 inches long and appear
in a dense mass before the leaves, each one of
which is pushed up from the ground on its
individual petiole.
Dull green leaves
are coarsely toothed at the apex of the leaf
blade and are entire at the tapered base
Allegheny spurge is not as vigorous as Japanese
spurge and does not form the massive groundcover display
