- 'Dauerstrahl' - Compact growth with arching
flowers creates a round habit, 2 feet tall.
Introduced in 1982 by the Klose Nursery,
Germany.
- 'Heidebraut' (Heather Bride) - Compact foliage
with erect flowering stems, 2-3 feet tall.
- 'Moorflamme' - Compact habit with an attractive
orange-red fall color, 1-2 feet tall.
- 'Moorhexe' - The Hagemann Nursery, Langenhagen,
Germany, introduced this cultivar in 1963. The
flowers are purplish and are carried on very
fine textured stems, 24-30 inches tall.
- 'Strahlenquelle' - Flower stems are more arching
than the species, 2-3 feet tall.
Other species:
- M. cacrulea. ssp. arundinacea -
Tall Moor Grass. This grass is similar to M. caerulea
except it is taller. The foliage grows 2-3
feet tall and the flowering stems rise 3-4
feet above the foliage.
