Upright, narrowly vase-shaped and open.
12-15 feet (up to 20 feet) tall with a spread of 9-12 feet
Flowers are yellow, ¾ inch long, borne in pendant racemes, 6-10 inches long, very showy.
Late May
Leaves are alternate, trifoliate, each leaflet being 1-3 inches long, elliptic, with entire margins and a bluish cast.
Fall color is nonexistent.
Buds are small, oval, covered with silky white pubescence.
Stems are green in color, with white pubescence.
Fruit is a brownish, slightly pubescent pod, 2-3 inches long, ripening in October
 
 

 
 
Flowers and seeds are poisonous if eaten.
