Mid-July
Lateral branches of
this clinging vine may extend as much as 3 feet
from the wall to which it clings by means of its
small rootlike holdfasts all along the stems.
Rich shreddy cinnamon red bark.
Not be confused
with
Schizophragma hydrangeoides which it
resembles because the leaves of the hydrangeas
are lustrous above and the leaf margin is
regularly serrate, while the leaves of
Schizophragma are not lustrous and they are
markedly coarse dentate.
