The flowers are white and are often tinged red on the outside, particularly when in bud. The numerous 5-6 petaled small flowers are arranged in a terminal panicle.
Late spring to early summer
Most of the leaves are basal with a few smaller leaves on the flower stems. Leaves are pinnately compound. 6-12 inches long and 1-2 inches wide. The leaflets are sessile to the rachis.
 
 
  • 'Flore Pleno' - Double flower selection has white flowers which resemble very small white roses. 15 inches tall
 
Fillpendula is derived from flium, meaning a thread and pendulus. meaning hanging and refers to the tubers which hang from the root system.
