The clustered flowers make round to cylindrical
dense masses of chartreuse to lime green colors.
They appear to be huge lime green bottle brushes
terminating each stem. This color remains with
little fading until the seeds ripen.
Early
spring
The evergreen leaves are arranged in close
spirals on the thick, pithy stems. The blue
green, glaucous, leaves are alternately
arranged, oblong lanceolate, 4 inches long and taper to a short petiole.
