Basal foliage clump which resembles a clump of spinach.
9-18 inches
The flowers are arranged in an 8-20 flowered umbel that terminates a stout flower scape 9-18 inches tall. The nodding flowers have 5 reflexed petals. The stamens are attached at the throat of the corolla and the anthers converge into a cone. Flower colors can be white, pink, lavender, or purple.
Late spring
Leaves ovate to spatulate, obtuse tips, 6-9 inches long, narrowed into a winged petiole. Leaf margins are usually entire.
