Prickly stemmed biennial that was once cultivated for the fruiting heads that were used to raise the nap (or "full") on woolen cloth. This gives the common name, Fuller's Teasel.
 
Pinkish flowers - The involucral bracts of each flower often extend beyond the corolla.
