ovate, the stem leaves short-stalked or sessile,

- 'Excelsior Hybrids - Flowers in pastel shades of pink,
mauve, yellow or white are borne all around
the spike, rather than on one side, 3-5 feet
tall.
- 'Foxy' - Can be used as an "annual", plants started in the
greenhouse will flower the first summer, 30-40 inches tall.
- 'Shirley Hybrids' - Many different flower colors, but the
flowers are borne on only one side of the spike, 3-5 feet
tall.
