There is usually
one flower borne at the terminal of a long
peduncle. The broad lip is a dull cream to
golden yellow and can be from ˝-2 inches wide.
The lateral petals that extend to the side like
wings are greenish yellow to brownish purple and
are often twisted.
Mid to late spring
Alternate leaves,
broadly ovate 3-8 inches long. Each leaf is
slightly folded and has many veins, which gives
the leaf a pleated appearance.
