White to purple,
often with striped petals. Borne singly, or
occasionally in cymes, they have 3 inner and 3
outer segments, creating a globe appearance when
the flower is closed
Late winter to
early spring.
The leaves are almost grass-like, dark green,
curved and often with a silver-white stripe down the
center of each leaf. The leaves are generally shorter
than the flowers and appear at the same time or slightly
later than the flowers.
'Early Perfection' - Violet purple-blue petals with dark
edges. A good early-flowering crocus.
'Enchantress' - Light amethyst-purple with a silver sheen
and a dark base. Mid-season flowering.
'Flower Record' - Dark purple flowers, often used in
containers.
'Jeanne d'Are' - Pure white flowers.
'Peter Pan' - Pure white flower with orange stigmata.
'Pickwick' - Silver-lilac flowers with darker lilac
stripes.
'Remembrance' - Silvery purple flowers, one of the earliest
to flower.
