Bushy plant, erect
3 feet tall and 24 inches wide
The small pink, reddish, or white flowers are fragrant and are borne in large terminal clusters that are 3 inches wide.
Late spring to early summer
Opposite leaves, lanceolate to ovate shaped, 2-3 inches long. They are glabrous and gray-green, sessile to the stem and are usually entire with some leaves slightly toothed.
 
Self-seeds regularly.
  • 'Albus' - White flowers, very scarce in commerce.
  • 'Atrococcineus' - Coppery-red flowers.
  • 'Coccineus' - Dark pink flowers.
  • 'Roseus' - Rose flowers.
