actually quite unique. This is a more than
600 year old tree we photographed during a
visit to the
Stourhead Estate Garden in
England in
2004.

Alternate, simple,
oblong-lanceolate, 4 1/2 to 9” long, 2 to 3 1/2”
wide.
Rich brown bark is
deeply furrowed and the ridges and furrows
spiral around the trunk.
