Hybrid Origin

Large mound of foliage topped by many branched flower stems.
2-4 feet tall by 2 feet wide
Flowers are 2-3 inches wide, white or pink with a silky sheen on the backside of the sepals. The flowers are carried on branching stems that arise gracefully above the dark green foliage.
Late summer and fall.
Leaves have long petioles and trifoliate. The leaflets usually have 3 lobes and are serrated.
 
 
  • 'Alba' - Single white flowers, 2-3 inches wide, are held on 3 feet tall stems.
  • 'Bressingham Glow' - Alan Bloom introduction has deep rose-magenta semidouble flowers.
  • 'Hadspen Abundance' - Single pink flowers, 3 feet tall.
  • 'Honorine Jobert' - This 1858 introduction is one of the most popular white anemones.  3-4 feet tall.
  • 'Joseph Paxton' -  3-4 feet tall plant at Wisley Gardens in England. Soft pink with a darker pink center.
  • 'Queen Charlotte' - 3 feet tall cultivar has semidouble, pink flowers 3 inches in diameter.
  • 'Krimhilde' - Salmon pink flowers.
  • 'Margarete' - semidouble dark pink flowers, 24-36 inches.
  • 'Max Vogel' - 4 feet tall and has large (4-5 inch) single pink flowers.
  • 'Pamina' - Pink, semidouble flowers.
  • 'Prince Henry' -  3 feet tall with deep rose, semidouble flowers.
  • 'Whirlwind' - 4-5 feet tall with semidouble white flowers.
