Small, silver-lilac flowers are borne in a
dense, globose umbel that is 4-6 inches wide. The
thick flower stalk emerges from the “funnel”
created by the two leaves.
Late spring.
This bulb usually has 2 leaves which are broadly
ovate to elliptic, 3-4 inches wide and 6-10 inches
long. The leaves have a metallic blue-green
color and may have a mottled, purple variegation
at the base and on the lower leaf surface. The
leaves are arranged in a funnel form and are
rolled outward at the tip.
