This is another genus that is under consideration by taxonomists who suggest that the genus, Chorisia, should be incorporated into Cieba which would raise the number of species to more than 20. These are generally larger trees that are native to tropical regions of Mexico, Central America, South America, West Africa and Southeastern Asia.
