Alex J. Summers (1914-2009) was one of the organizers and the first President of the American Hosta Society in 1968. He was also the editor of the organization's publication called The Bulletin of the American Hosta Society which is now The Hosta Journal. He had a very large collection of hostas at his home called Honeysong Farm in Delaware.
