Although
the Hosta Registrar
attempts to gather all pertinent information about a hosta prior
to its registration, there is occasionally a need to make
changes, updates or to add previously unknown data. The
registrant may wish to change the description of certain plant
traits such as mature plant size or variegation colors after
observing the hosta over a longer period. Flower color was, for
some reason, omitted from many early registrations so this is
often added. More accurate data on the originator, nominant
(person who named the plant) and introducer may come to light
later and need to be changed.
Like the original registration,
these changes become "official" once they are printed in the
annual Registrations publication of
The American
Hosta Society.
