When
W. George Schmid created the map shown here in 1991,
there were 43 accepted hosta species. In 2010, Schmid
decided that H. sieboldiana was actually not
a species found in the wilds so it was reclassified as a
cultivar, H. 'Sieboldiana'.
This change was then accepted by
The
American Hosta Society. So, the location for #34 on
the map is incorrect.
