Hosta 'Henry the First'

Registered by Charles Kwick of Wisconsin in 2017, this giant size (33 inches high by 48 inches wide) cultivar is an upright growing seedling of H. 'Elegans' × H. 'Satisfaction'. The medium green foliage has flat margins and is broadly ovate, slightly shiny on top with a cordate base. Near white flowers bloom from June into July on scapes up to 40 inches tall. It sets seeds but their  viability were not known at the time of registration.

The registration materials state: "...Tall, upright, huge leaves have a bold, regal appearance...darkens somewhat to a deeper green."
