Hosta 'Chief White Cloud'

This cultivar was registered in 2007 and is part of Van Wade's American Indian Series of hostas. It is a hybrid of H. pycnophylla x (H. 'High Noon' × H. 'Big John'). The large size mound stands 23 inches tall and 40 inches wide with a semi-upright form. Leaves are slightly corrugated, rippled and smooth textured. Pale lavender flowers bloom in August.

Painting by George Catlin, of White Cloud, Head Chief of the Iowa Indian tribe.
