Hosta 'Zydeco'

One of several hybrids of H. 'Sea Prize' × H. hypoleuca from Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan, this cultivar was registered in 2003. It is a medium size hosta with blue-green foliage that has a creamy yellow marginal variegation. The leaves are ovate, heavily corrugated and have thick substance. Pale lavender flowers bloom from late June into July.

Zydeco is popular style of music of southern Louisiana that combines tunes of French origin with elements of Caribbean music and the blues featuring guitar, washboard, and accordion.
