Hosta 'Unexpected Pleasure'

This hybrid of H. 'Dorothy Benedict' × H. montana was registered by Stuart Asch of Michigan in 2000. The large size plant grows to about 20 inches in height with a spread of 54 inches. It has dark green foliage with white marginal variegation. The leaves are narrowly ovate, moderately wavy and have deep veins. Its pure white flowers bloom from mid-July into August.

The originator made the following comment on the Fraternal Order of Seedy Fellows website: "Another plant that was destined for the early compost bin but survived several cullings. How glad I am that this plant was spared from the 'Hosta Death Panel'. Dark green centers with a nice near- white edge on this medium/large plant."
