Hosta 'Sun Shower'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. One is registered and, therefore, the "official" version of H. 'Sun Shower' while the other is a non-registered plant and needs to be renamed to avoid further confusion.

An open-pollinated seedling of a hybrid of (H. 'Sieboldiana' x H. 'One Man's Treasure'), this cultivar was registered by Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina in 2007. The medium size mound is about 14 inches tall with heart shaped leaves. It bears pale lavender flowers in July. It emerges bright yellow in the spring and becomes more chartreuse in color as the season progresses.

According to the NH Hostas & Companion Plants website, "Bob Solberg considers 'Sun Shower' to be the center of his 'Longiana' hybridizing program."

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Sun Shower' (Solberg)

Randy Goodwin of Indiana originated a seedling of unidentified parentage with this name. It has rippled, gold colored foliage.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Sun Shower' (Goodwin)
