						  According to

The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...sport of 'Golden Nugget' (Hatfield Gardens 1988 catalog, p. 3); also described as a sport
of a gold-leaved sport of 'Wagon Wheels' (Pollock 1987b)." 'Spinning Wheel' was
							originated by
Mildred Seaver of Massachusetts and registered on her behalf by

			Kevin Walek (Hosta
Registrar) in 2009 as a sport of
						H. 'Golden Nugget'.
It has blue-green foliage with a medium to bright
yellow medial (center) variegation. The plant
becomes a large size hosta about 20 inches high and 50 inches wide with foliage that is
							nearly round,
unruly, slightly cupped (up or down), is heavily corrugated with
thick substance. Dense clusters of near white flowers bloom
starting from late June into July in Massachusetts.
							Mark Zilis (2009)
also states that this cultivar, "...tends to burn a bit in spring,
				but most specimens are problem-free."

										"Available at

Hatfield Gardens at about $200.00. A
										large, round-leaf, variegated plant of
very heavy substance and texture. The
deep cupping of the leaves and the dark
green edge with yellow and cream center
makes this an outstanding specimen. I
										believe 'Larry
Englerth' may be a very similar
plant and equally desirable." | |
