This cultivar is a hybrid of a H. 'Elvis Lives' × a seedling
that resulted from the cross of ((H. 'Swoosh' ×
H. longissima) seedling x H. 'Red Neck Heaven'). Wow! All of
that resulted in a cultivar that was then registered by
Tony Avent of
Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina
in 2006. 'Skinny Dippin' is a small size plant about 8˝ inches high by a
spread of around 18 inches. It has blue-green foliage. Lavender
flowers bloom from mid-July into August. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "This is another example of the outstanding hosta breeding
program that Tony Avent has developed at his nursery. It
combines the genes from two of his best introductions ('Red Neck Heaven' and 'Elvis Lives') with those of a tried-and-true
breeding plant ('Swoosh') and a valuable species, H. longissima."
