Hosta 'Prima Donna'

A sport of an H. 'William Lachman' seedling, this cultivar was registered in 1995 by Dr. Jim and Jill Wilkins of Michigan. It grows a large size (23 inches high by 56 inches wide) mound with slightly wavy leaves that have a moderate bloom beneath. Pale lavender flowers bloom from late July into August but do not set seeds.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "This represents another outstanding Wilkins cultivar."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Increases rapidly...Flower bracts are tricolored cream, green, and lavender."
