The result of a cross between H. 'Gold Regal'
× a gold
colored seedling of H. 'Tokudama',
this cultivar was registered by
Bob Kuk of Kuk's Forest in Ohio in
1994. It forms a medium size (12 inches high by 18 inches wide) mound of corrugated, somewhat wavy
foliage. Near white flowers open in mid to late July followed by
viable seeds.
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Site in the morning sun, except in the hottest
climates, to enhance the fiery, deep golden color of the leaves, which
intensifies as the season progresses."
