Hosta 'Painted Lady'

aka Hosta sieboldii 'Painted Lady'

Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan registered this induced sport of the species, H. sieboldii in 1984. It forms a dense mound of medium size with elliptic foliage. The leaves have a small number of white streaks. It has a rhizomatous growth habit. Medium purple flowers bloom in August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...was introduced for its streaky foliage but it usually reverts to a more stable, white-margined, green-centered form."
