This non-registered hosta from
Japan is a form of
H. ventricosa. The leaves emerge gold
in the spring but turn green as the season progresses (viridescent).
The purple, bell-shaped flowers are borne in July. Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term murasaki
as purple and the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow. |
