Hosta 'Nicola'

Listed as possibly a hybrid of H. 'Sieboldiana' x H. 'Tardiflora', this cultivar was registered by Alan Eason of England in 1984. The slightly wavy, slightly corrugated foliage forms a medium size mound that is 14 inches high and 28 inches wide. Its purple flowers bloom in August followed by viable seeds.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Its attractive, purple flowers finish blooming in the last few days of August."

"Plant is the only green-leaved cultivar of the Tardiana grex to be named in the United Kingdom. Its flowers are said to be lavender, ranging to pink."
