Hosta 'National Velvet'

A medium size (16 inches high by 32 inches wide) hosta, this cultivar is a sport of H. 'Tardiflora' which was registered by Bob Kuk of Kuk's Forest in Ohio in 1990. It has medium to dark green foliage that is ovate and sometimes corrugated. The leaves on this semi-upright hosta are very shiny on the bottom. Lavender flowers bloom in August on scapes about 26 inches tall.
