Hosta 'Memphis Blue'

Found in a nursery by Olga Petryszyn of Indiana, this cultivar was registered by The American Hosta Society on her behalf in 2021 as a seedling of H. 'Sagae' × H. 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa'. It is a large to giant size (26 inches high by 66 inches wide) hosta with slightly blue-green foliage. The broadly ovate leaves are slightly corrugated and slightly wavy. It bears pure white, bell shape flowers in June and sets viable seed.

According to the Registration materials: "Large upright mound of thick blue leaves that gain more corrugation with maturity.  Rich blue color holds well all season...loses some of its glaucous coating late in the season (or if exposed to strong sunlight)..."
