This seedling selection of unidentified parentage from
Clarence
Owens of Michigan was registered on his behalf by
Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009. It grows into a large size
hosta about 24 inches high with a spread of 50 inches. The leaves are
ovate, wavy with a shiny underside. Funnel shaped lavender
flowers bloom in July and it sets viable seeds.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "In a conversation with originator Clarence Owens in 2002, he stated that this would not be registered due to its
unstable nature. Perhaps its greatest claim to fame is that it is the
mother plant of 'Bobbie Sue' and 'White Necklace'."
