Hosta 'Lakeside Zig Zag'

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009)says that this cultivar is a sport of H. 'Independence' and that it is "...a smaller lookalike." 'Lakeside Zig Zag' has dark green foliage with a creamy white marginal variegation. It forms a medium size plant about 18 inches high and 43 inches wide. Funnel shaped, lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into August.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to find any other information about a cultivar of this name. As of the 2016 data, it is not registered with The American Hosta Society. There is an H. 'Lakeside Zing Zang' and H. 'Zig Zag' but neither of these would be considered a "lookalike" for H. 'Independence' at least as far as we can see...
