Hosta 'Honey'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. One is registered and, therefore, the "official" version of H. 'Honey' while the other is a non-registered plant and needs to be renamed to avoid further confusion.

This seedling from H. montana was registered by Robert Savory of Savory's Gardens in Minnesota in 1977. The bright green foliage forms a large size clump about 27 inches high with a spread of 65 inches. Leaves have many slight marginal ripples and are slightly shiny on the underside with good substance. The very pale lavender flowers bloom in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...could be useful as a background plant."

Originated by Volker Eschenbach of Planwerk  Staudengärtnerei in Germany, this non-registered cultivar is a sport of H. 'Halcyon'. Accordingly, it is probably a blue-green plant of medium size with pale lavender flowers from late July into August.
