This second generation
Tardiana-type hosta
was registered in 1976 by
Paul Aden of New York on behalf of the English originator,
Eric Smith. A
medium size hosta, it grows to about 15 inches tall with a spread of about 33 inches.
This cultivar has ovate shaped leaves with thick
substance. It bears purplish flowers in late August.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...stands out amongst the
Tardianas for having purple flowers that bloom very late in the
season."
