A seedling of H. 'August Moon',
this cultivar was registered by
Robert
Savory
of Savory's Gardens in Minnesota in 1985. It grows into a large size hosta about 24 inches in height with a spread of 57 inches. The bright
gold foliage comes to an abrupt tip and has slight waviness and
corrugation. Its medium purple flowers bloom in July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...bears a close resemblance to 'August Moon', its pod
parent, though its color is brighter and the mound size is a
little larger."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Leaf edges are more rippled than its parents, and
the midrib and veins remain green."
