This cultivar is a sport of H. 'Spotlight' which was registered by Ron Snyder of Minnesota in 2001. The leaves are green with a gold colored marginal variegation. It forms a large size (28 inches high) mound of wavy, slightly corrugated foliage with good substance. In July, it produces pale purple flowers atop 4 to 6 foot tall scapes. This hosta often reverts back to the H. 'Spotlight' color combination of only light yellow leaves.
